Edinburgh Residential 2024

Edinburgh Residential 2024

We had an amazing residential experience at Edinburgh. We stayed for three nights at the Hotel Britannia and we had a jam- packed itinerary, making memories that will last a life-time!

Day 1

We kick started the experience with a private tour around The Real Mary King's Close listening to 'residents' tell their story of the Plague. Mary King's Close is a historic close located under the Edinburgh City Chambers building on the Royal Mile. The first several rooms were recreations of life in the 1600s when Mary King resided on the street. We were told a gruesome tale of what happened with one of the residents of the close!  Next, we mounted an open top bus, which took us on a sight seeing experience around the city. Luckily, the rain held off for our tour!

Day 2

We used public transport (we were given money to pay for our own tickets) to visit the zoo. We had an educational tour around the zoo, exploring lots of animals and their habitats. We discovered what some of the animals ate and found out that some of the animals that were enclosed at the zoo are considered 'endangered'. Our guide talked us through their conservation projects.

That night, we were given a spooky 'Ghost Walk' around the city where real tales of ghost stories were shared!

Day 3

We visited the Royal Yacht Britannia. We wandered around the breathtaking yacht listening to audios of how the royal family once travelled the world on it.
