In May 2026, our Year 6 pupils will be taking their Key Stage 2 SATs (Standard Assessment Tests). These national tests are designed to assess children’s understanding and progress in English and Mathematics at the end of primary school. The SATs provide valuable information for both teachers and parents about each child’s strengths and areas for development as they prepare to move on to secondary school. All tests are set and marked externally to ensure consistency across the country.
Below is a breakdown of the SATs week for 2026:
Monday 11th May 2026: English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (Paper 1: Grammar & Punctuation) and Paper 2: Spelling
Tuesday 12th May 2026: English Reading Paper
Wednesday 13th May 2026: Mathematics Paper 1 (Arithmetic) and Mathematics Paper 2 (Reasoning)
Thursday 14th May 2026: Mathematics Paper 3 (Reasoning)
During this week, it is important that children arrive on time, are well-rested, and have a positive mindset. The SATs are just one part of a child’s overall achievement, and we will continue to support and encourage every pupil to do their very best.
After- school SATs club will start in January 2026- more details to follow from Mr Mossop.
