Loose Parts Play
At our school, we encourage creativity, imagination, and problem-solving through Loose Parts Play during playtimes. Loose Parts Play involves providing children with a wide range of open-ended materials—such as tyres, crates, wooden planks, fabric, tubes, and other everyday objects—that they can move, build, and design with in any way they choose. This type of play allows children to take the lead, work together, and use their imagination to create their own games, structures, and challenges. It supports important skills such as teamwork, communication, resilience, and critical thinking while giving pupils the freedom to explore and express their ideas. Our playground has become a space where creativity and collaboration thrive, and it’s wonderful to see children so engaged and inspired by the endless possibilities that Loose Parts Play provides.
