Roald Dahl day

The children enjoyed learning about Roald Dahl and in particular enjoyed learning about the story of The BFG. They each created a dream catcher and wrote about some very imaginative dreams.

From our vegetable patch to soup...

Since Easter the children have loved looking after the vegetables and plants growing outside and have watered them regularly. Now the weather is turning colder, the vegetables have been picked and the children all helped to make some homemade vegetable soup. They even tried it for an afternoon snack.

To mark 100 years since the end of World War One, the children have been taking part in some exciting activities. Such activities have included dressing up on Tuesday for afternoon tea with their family members, doing P.E with members of the Duke of Lancaster Regiment, marching with the Army Cadets and testing out their camps, getting their own ration books stamped during dinner and creating poppy biscuits to send home.

People who help us

Reception & Year 1 are loving our latest topic of 'People who help us' and are really enjoying focusing on the police. Year 1 in particular had a fantastic time acting as detectives and investigating the murder in the school library. This has led to some in depth discussions and some impressive writing.

The Gincase

The children enjoyed our Christmas trip to the Gincase. They played in the indoor and outdoor play area, explored the farm grounds, got to meet Santa in his grotto and met Rudolph too.
